Through our collaboration with the fundraising platform and Abriendo Mentes, the local school, we ensure that every stay at Casa Chameleon supports education programs for brighter futures – and with your help, we’ve contributed to over 3,000 students’ journeys so far.
When children are given access to structured education and after-school programs, they are more likely to experience a higher quality of life and financial stability as adults. They are also more likely to develop crucial skills such as critical thinking, helping them make informed, mindful, and responsible decisions to improve their personal lives and community.
A percentage of every stay at Casa Chameleon Las Catalinas is donated to Abriendo Mentes, a small school proudly serving children and adults in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica. Since the setup of our impact fund, we’ve allocated over $33,000 to provide supplies for programs including English classes, ‘Fun Fridays’ sports activities, and computer lessons. The school also runs adult education classes, equipping people with the necessary skills to tackle contemporary challenges and economic shifts. In an area where dropout rates have been high since the ‘00s, these proceeds ensure improved access to education, increased economic opportunities, and reduced unemployment rates, while instilling confidence.

Alongside the community development initiative, we’ve also been working on recycling programs and responsible waste management. Moreover, all of Casa Chameleon’s gastronomical spots at Las Catalinas are crafted with an emphasis on authentic flavors inspired by local culture and traditions, as well as with a responsible food supply chain to preserve the beautiful Costa Rican environment.
