  1. Where are you from & how long have you lived in Santa Teresa?

I am originally from Managua, Nicaragua but I moved to beautiful Santa Teresa 5 wonderful years ago and love living here. The nature and pristine beaches surrounding us is beautiful and especially the view from our hotel makes everyday like paradise here!rancho2

  1. Why or what made you move to Santa Teresa?

There are so many great things about Santa Teresa and Mal Pais it is no wonder why someone would move here!! I moved from Fortuna, San Carlos, which was nice, but I wanted to find a new and better job in tourism, which is why I am so happy I work at the award winning Hotel Casa Chameleon.

  1. Describe your job at Hotel Casa Chameleon.

At Hotel Casa Chameleon I have been working in housekeeping for the past 2.5 years. Of course besides being responsible for the hotels cleanliness, I enjoy interacting with the guests and making them feel like part of our family during their stay. One of the best parts about working at Hotel Casa Chameleon is sharing the great experience with my colleagues and meeting people from all over the world.

  1. fullsizerenderWhat is your favorite part about Santa Teresa and Costa Rica?

Along the Nicoya Peninsula there are so many wonderful and untouched beaches to enjoy while on vacation, however I have a few favorites I like to share with guests for them to enjoy as well. Playa Hermosa, just a short drive north from the center of Santa Teresa, is a great place to spend the day. You can surf, relax, build a sand castle or have a picnic! Another great thing to do is take a day trip to the neighboring town, Montezuma, and visit the waterfall there. I also love visiting La Fortuna, where I used to live, and seeing the Arenal Volcano while there.

  1. What is your favorite part about Hotel Casa Chameleon?

As I mentioned before one of the best parts about working at Hotel Casa Chameleon is meeting guests from around the world. One of my favorite things about working at the hotel is welcoming the guests, greeting and meeting them, and hopefully giving them the best service possible. I always enjoy doing special decorations for each guests, so please let us know if you are celebrating a special occasion while in Santa Teresa and we will be happy to make it extra special!

  1. activity-2-624x416What are your top 3 tips or suggestions for visitors?

There are plenty of fun activities to do while visiting Santa Teresa and Mal Pais. One of the top things to do in Mal Pais is taking a canopy tour. You get to soar threw the breathtaking jungles of Costa Rica and have the best view of the peninsula! Hiking up to the Montezuma Waterfall is another great thing to do while on vacation. You can even jump off the rocks into the fresh water! Lastly, take a ride and find a secluded spot to enjoy an afternoon on one of the many lovely beaches.

  1. What does Pura Vida mean to you?

Pura Vida, or pure life, is not just a saying in Costa Rica. It is a greeting, a welcoming, a way of life that all Ticos use to explain that everything will be fine and right. This is a way we express to be happy, calm, relaxed and enjoy your life, its beautiful!
